The safest student cities

The Complete University Guide has just released its guide to student crime and the best and worst cities for student related crime. It’s an interesting read and is being picked up by some of the UK press. However, it could be a little much to suggest that students should use the guide when deciding where to go, I think you should choose your university based on which offers the best course for you and the best education!

I’ve taken the liberty of publishing their league table below because the one on their site doesn’t rank it from number one to twenty for some reason:

Good old Bath is number two, but that is hardly surprising as it is the most middle class city ever and is also one of the most expensive places to live outside of London 😉

Poor old Nottingham is apparently the worst city for student related crime, but I can’t help but think that Nottingham is always getting a bashing for its crime rate. I’ve lived there and it really isn’t that bad.

Anyway, take what you want from this guide, but please don’t let this guide stop you making an informed decision on your choice of university; these types of study are usually flawed in some way. I’m quite sure criminals can travel for instance 🙂
